Terms of use
The plain-language version of the deal between you and Earthmote.
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Earthmote helps you understand who you are, what you want, and where you can go — and helps you move. Opportunities are grounded in real sources, but what the product infers about you and about fit is a probabilistic best guess, not a guarantee.
It is a navigation tool, not professional, legal, or employment advice, and using it is not a promise of a job, an interview, or any particular outcome.
Acceptable use
- Use the product for your own career navigation in good faith.
- Give accurate information about yourself; do not impersonate someone else.
- Do not attack, scrape at scale, overload, or attempt to break the service or other people's data.
Billing
The product is a free service. The only purchase is the supporter subscription ($1/month), which adds the follow-through tools — custom resumes per job and per career, cover letters, and email alerts on new matches — and is billed through Stripe. The price you subscribe at is yours: if the supporter price changes later, existing subscriptions keep their original price.
- You can manage or cancel the supporter subscription anytime through the billing portal; everything free keeps working either way.
- Purchases made before August 2026 (legacy plans, credit packs, the job-hunt pass) keep working exactly as sold: legacy monthly credits reset each billing period without rollover, bought credits never expire, and passes run to their end date. These are no longer sold.
- If a payment fails, your account enters a past-due grace window (your access stays on while Stripe retries) before it downgrades to the free tier.
Your content
Your resume and the details you provide remain yours. You grant us permission to process them solely to provide the product to you — to build your profile, explain fit, and generate the tools you ask for. See the privacy page for how that data is handled.
What you see is inferred
Much of what Earthmote shows — pay estimates, fit reads, culture and pressure signals, suggested paths — is machine-inferred. We show you our best current read along with its confidence and where it came from, and we stand behind that honesty, but a read is not a fact. Job listings come from real sources and can change, expire, or be wrong upstream of us.
Before you act on something load-bearing — pay, requirements, schedule, location — verify it with the employer or the original source.
The product changes
Earthmote evolves quickly, and that is the point. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time — including features you use regularly — as we learn what actually helps people move. We aim to make every change an improvement, but no specific feature, surface, or behavior is promised to stay.
Two things we do promise: the free core stays free while we offer it, and a supporter subscription keeps the price it was started at. If the supporter toolset itself changes, it changes for the better or you can cancel anytime.
We may also update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date at the top; continuing to use Earthmote after a change means the current terms apply.
No warranty & limits on liability
The product is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for decisions made solely on its output — treat it as one informed input among many.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Earthmote is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost income, lost opportunities, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
Your account
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or harm the service or other people. You can stop using Earthmote anytime and delete your account — your data goes with it, as described on the privacy page. If your supporter subscription is active when you leave, it simply stops renewing.
