Privacy
What we collect, why, and what we never do with it — without legal fog.
We use your information to give you a better path: clearer fit explanations, values tradeoffs, bridge plans, and recommendations.
We do not sell your data.
We do not sell rankings, and employers do not pay for placement or fit — the same commitment as our how we make money page.
What we collect
- Account details — your email and sign-in identity, so you can return to your work.
- What you give us — resume text, goals, values, and corrections you make to what the product infers about you.
- What we infer — a probabilistic profile of your skills, experience, and fit. These are best guesses carrying a confidence and a provenance trail, not verdicts, and you can correct them.
- How you use the product — limited usage and diagnostic signals so the surfaces can teach more as you explore.
Who processes your data
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so the product can run. They process your data to provide their service to us; they do not get to sell it. Today that means:
- Language-model providers — read the resume text, goals, and corrections you give us to build the skills and fit reads.
- Mapbox — serves the map tiles and receives the usage telemetry every Mapbox map sends.
- Vercel Analytics — counts page views on the public pages.
- Sentry — receives error reports when something breaks.
- Stripe and hosting — payment processing for supporters, and the servers the product runs on.
Advertising
The free tier shows clearly labeled ads served by Google AdSense. We ask before loading them; if you decline, no ad code runs and the product works the same. We do not hand Google your profile, goals, resume, or fit reads — ads are matched to the page, not to you. Google may set its own cookies when ads load; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Supporters see no ads.
What we observe while you use the map
From first paint the map notes a few things so the surfaces can teach more as you explore:
- Views and clicks: which opportunities you open.
- Hovers: which cards hold your attention on desktop.
- Saves and dismissals: what you keep and what you wave off.
- Dwell time: how long an opportunity stays open.
- Map moves: where you pan and zoom to look.
You can pause all of this under Settings → Diagnostics (“Pause behavioral signal collection”); the product keeps working the same.
Keeping and deleting your data
Deletion is by request today: email privacy@earthmote.com from your account’s address and we remove the account along with your resumes, profiles, and the artifacts derived from them — we do not keep an orphaned shadow copy to mine later. A self-serve delete control is not shipped yet; this page will say so when it is.
